ODM leader Raila Odinga has received a major boost after key Tana River County leaders joined his party.
The leaders included two elected MPs and several MCAs.
A statement by the party revealed that the ODM chairman John Mbadi stepped in for Raila in welcoming the leaders to the Orange party.
"National Chairman John Mbadi this morning at Chungwa House received into the party, Hon. Said Buya Hiribae, MP, Galole Constituency & Hon. Ali Wario Guyo, MP, Garsen together with a host of MCAs from Tana River County," the ODM party tweeted.
The ODM party said the leaders will defend their seats on the Orange party ticket.
Their entry into the ODM party is likely to boost the ODM leader chances in Tana River county considering the group controls a significant support base.
Raila requires support across the political divide as his fifth stab at the presidency is seemingly a do or die one.
The 2022 August 9, polls will be his fifth stab at the presidency.
