A KCPE candidate at Kisole Primary School in Mwingi, Kitui County has been unable to sit for her national exams after she became blind.
According to reports, the candidate, Stella Vaati, went blind seven days before the examinations kicked off after she was diagnosed with a growth in her brain.
She is currently hospitalized at the Mwingi Level 4 hospital as she awaits to be transferred to the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for surgery.
Speaking from her hospital bed, the seemingly weak candidate called on the government to assist her in paying her hospital bill once the growth is removed.
“Nikienda huko Kenyatta nikitolewa hiyo growth yenye niko nayo, serikali inisaidie kulipa hiyo bill ya hospitali juu babangu aliaga,” Stella said as her mother held her.
