Wajir South leadership and elders met with Opposition Leader Raila Odinga and Suba East MP Junet Mohamed to discuss development matters.
Reports by Wajir Woman Rep Fatma Gedi the leaders agreed to work together and also support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI)
"Together with Wajir South leadership, elders and Professionals, we met Rt Hon. Raila Odinga and Hon. Junet Mohamed to discuss matters development. We have resolved to work in close connection with the two Principals and support the BBI," she said in a post on Twitter.
This comes a day after Wajir MCAs met with DP William Ruto where he urged county assemblies to shun a forced 'Yes-no' campaign around the BBI.
Ruto urged the county assemblies to work together and push for progressive engagements around the Building Bridges Initiative.
"...so that we can build a consensus on the report. A divisive referendum process cannot be used to achieve a united country," the DP said.
"We must at the moment prioritise the health of our people and focus on countering the effects of Covid-19," he added.
