Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria is seemingly reneging on his earlier statement where he said that they rigged votes for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a statement on Facebook, the MP appeared to suggest that his remarks were misconstrued and that it was a slip of the tongue.
The MP appeared to suggest that he meant they sang for Uhuru until he won the presidency.

"Ben Githae is my witness. Tuliimbia Uhuru Ndani Ndani Ndaani mpaka akashinda," he said.
Loosely translates to: " We sang for Uhuru on his way to the presidency".
Though the MP did not directly seek to clarify his vote-rigging remarks, the statement came at a time when he was facing backlash for his remarks.
The Statement was to ostensibly exonerate himself from the negative impact of what his remarks caused.
During the UDA NDC on Tuesday, Kuria said they rigged votes on behalf of President Kenyatta.
"Kuna wengine wanasema ati kura ya mlima itagawanywa; mheshimiwa Ann Waiguru, Rigathi Gachagua, Muthomi Njuki, Kimani Ichung’wa, Senator Linturi, Alice Wahome, Faith Gitau, Kimani wa Matangi…Sisi ndio tulikuwa tukishikilia Uhuru kura, na sisi ndio tulikuwa tunamuibia kura,” Kuria stated.
Loosely translates to: "Some people are saying that the Mt Kenya votes will be divided; Governor Ann Waiguru, Rigathi Gachagua, Muthomi Njuki, Kimani Ichung’wa, Senator Linturi, Alice Wahome, Faith Gitau, Kimani wa Matangi... we are the ones who protected Uhuru's votes and we are the one who rigged for him votes".
