A Kenya Wildlife Services pilot died in a plane crash in Kajiado on Thursday.
According to a statement from KWS, the incident occurred at 7:38am at Orly Strip in Magadi during a routine training exercise.
“The plane was an AutoGyro aircraft model MTOSport 2010, registration 5Y-KWV which is used for park patrols,” KWS stated.
The agency further stated that investigations are underway to establish the cause of the accident.

Reports by the Standard indicated that the pilot was alone in the gyrocopter.
Though KWS did not reveal the identity of the pilot, the statement expressed condolence to the deceased’s family, friends and colleagues.
"Kenya Wildlife Service wishes to convey our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased pilot," it added.
The AutoGyro aircraft model MTOsport 2010, registered 5Y-KWV, went down at about 7 am during a routine training exercise.
