Junet claimed Mandago and Kositany behaved suspiciously, moving out of the house and coming back as they condoled with Kibor's family.

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has come out to narrate the whole ordeal of what happened before and after the unfortunate attacks on Raila Odinga's chopper in Kabnenes Uasin Gishu County during the burial of Mzee Jackson Kibor.

Speaking to a local TV station on Friday night, Junet squarely laid the blame on a section of local leaders they met at Kibor's home shortly after landing from a rally that they had earlier attended at Iten in Elgeyo Marakwet county.

According to Junet, they arrived at Kibor's home late in the evening when the burial ceremony was being carried out.

They were ushered into Kibor's home by Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago and the area MP Caleb Kositany.

However, Junet claimed the two allegedly behaved suspiciously, moving out of the house and coming back as they condoled with Kibor's family.

It was after then that their security came in and called on them to leave the venue since a commotion was allegedly building outside.

"I could see some suspicious movements by Governor Mandago and Kositany moving out and coming back to the house when we were condoling the family. Our security team then alerted us saying there were commotions outside and that we should leave immediately. As soon as we got outside, there were a number of 200-500 rowdy youths and as soon as we boarded our chopper, stones started flying in from all directions," claimed Junet.

He claimed their security was overwhelmed and was forced to speed away to Eldoret town after the incident.

He said nobody was hurt despite the fact that the stone that broke the windshield landed on the side Raila Odinga was seated.

"We were not hurt but it was a serious attempt on our lives. We will record a statement with the police on Saturday morning" added Junet during an interview with Citizen TV

Despite this, Governor Mandago and Caleb Kositany have come out to rubbish Junet's remarks.

According to Kositany, the incident was unfortunate and was not planned in any way. He said he only learned of it through Twitter and did not take part in any plans as alleged by Junet

"With Raila,Junet and Babu at Mzee Kibor’s burial. Sorry about the chopper incident, it’s quite unfortunate. It wasn’t planned, just learned about it on Twitter" said Kositany.

On his part, Governor Mandago condemned the attacks on Raila, saying Uasin Gishu county is peaceful and that they will ensure all perpetrators are brought to justice.

"I condemn with the strongest terms possible the act of violence directed at the former Prime Minister Rt Hon Raila Odinga after the burial of Mzee Jackson Kibor. Uasin Gishu is a peaceful county, we will pursue the matter until the perpetrators are all brought to book," said Mandago
