All the 4 incumbent parliamentarians from Siaya who had been subjected to nominations by the ODM are likely to retain their seats in the August 9 polls after they won primaries held on Wednesday.
Siaya is an ODM stronghold and those who win the primaries are likely to win the main elections.
The results which were released late in the night by returning officer Maina Victor declared legislators Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Samuel Atandi (Alego Usonga), and Gideon Ochanda (Bondo) and Christine Ombaka (Women Representative) winners.

Ochanda garnered 10,771 votes against 4,967 of his closest challenger John Andiwo Mwai.
Odhiambo got 7,405 to become the ODM candidate in Gem parliamentary seat. He was competing against George Jalang’o Midiwo who received 6,384 votes.
Alego Usonga MP Atandi trounced his competitors after bagging 17,789 votes. His competitor Nicholus Kut received 3,350 votes while Jaqueline Oduol got 542 votes.
Ombaka narrowly won the Woman Representative seat with 27,521 votes. Her closest challenger Pamela Akello got 20,513 votes.
Others who had also angled for the woman MP seat were Dorothy Ainga who scored 11,996, Mary Apiyo Olute with 8,361, Caroline Adhiambo with 5,565, Mildred Atieno 4,416 and Maurine Anyango with 2,827.
Ombaka thanked the Siaya people for voting for her again and promised to serve better.
Atandi thanked the ODM and its National Elections Board for doing a good job.
“We did not expect that the elections would turn out to be this way, but the elections were conducted in a free, fair, and competent manner,” Atandi said.
All the nominees were issued with ODM interim certificates.
