The United Democratic Alliance party will not conduct nominations in Nairobi for MP seats.
The primaries scheduled for Kamukunji, Embakasi East and Starehe Constituencies have been called off and the party will now focus on Opinion polls in determining candidates.
The UDA party has also announced that the joint nominations with the ANC party that were to be held in Mathare and Dagoretti North have been called off.
The Kenya Kwanza Alliance will use opinion polls in determining strong candidates.

“The National Elections Board wishes to notify the public that after consultations between UDA and ANC, there will be no joint nominations for Dagoretti North and Mathare Constituencies. Instead, alternative methods will be used to identify nominees. This, therefore, means that there will be no universal suffrage nominations between the coalition partners as earlier communicated,” said the board's chairperson Anthony Mwaura.
“The board also clarifies that there will be no nominations for Embakasi East and Kamkunji constituencies under UDA using universal suffrage. Instead, alternative methods as provided by the party constitution will be applied."
However, the party will conducts nominations for Roysambu MP seats and in all ward seats it had announced earlier.
The UDA party had announced that it will conduct party primaries in 9 sub-counties in Nairobi.
This comes even as Deputy President William Ruto is set to meet winners and losers of the UDA primaries in a bid to quell the simmering anger occasioned by the election loss.
The meeting is expected to assure election losers of a brighter future in the even the DP forms the next government.
