Deputy President Wiliam Ruto has arrived at Parliament buildings where the body of Kenya's third president Mwai Kibaki has been taken.

Kibaki died on Friday as announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta in a presidential Proclamation.

Deputy President has lined up together with senior leadership of the parliament including Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka and his National Assembly counterpart JustinĀ  Muturi to welcome President Uhuru.

Cabinet secretaries first held a meeting with Uhuru at State House and left for parliament.

President Uhuru is being waited to kick start the process of celebrating the late Kibaki.

Kibaki will lie in state at the parliament building for three days.

Kenyans will be allowed to view his body for three days.

On Friday, a state funeral will be held ahead of his burial on Saturday.
