Raila Odinga presidential campaign spokesperson Prof. Makau Mutua has called out the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) over the selection of presidential running mates.
In a tweet on Thursday, Prof. Mutua said that the Deputy President Willima Ruto-led party wanted to pick running mates both for itself and for the Azimio coalition party.
“UDA wants to pick both running mates — for itself and for Azimio. Does that make sense to anyone with a single brain cell?” Prof. Makau tweeted.
His tweet came less than a day after he asked the DP to pick Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka as his running mate if he cared for him so much.

Prof. Mutua asked Dr. Ruto to leave Azimio alone and stop poking his nose where it does not belong.
“My advice to @WilliamsRuto — please pick @skmusyoka as your running mate if you care so much for him. Your hypocrisy is rich. Leave Azimio matters to us. Stop poking your nose where it doesn’t belong, and is unwanted. Our process is inclusive/participatory. Yours is OPAQUE,” he said.
His sentiments were a response to Ruto’s remarks who said that Kalonzo was being humiliated by being subjected to an interview in the selection of Raila’s running mate.
The DP said that the Wiper boss deserved dignity and respect in whatever circumstance.
Meanwhile, presidential hopefuls have up to May 16 to submit the names of their running mates to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
