Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has torn into the Azimio One Kenya coalition party over the nomination of Murang’a Women Representative Sabina Chege for the running mate position.
The vocal lawmaker on Sunday morning, May 8 took to Facebook to blast the Raila Odinga-led outfit over considering Chege for the position.
Ms Chege’s name had been fronted by the Jubilee party to the Azimio panel choosing Raila’s running mate. Her name was submitted alongside that of former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth.
However, Kuria seemed not to be content with the nomination of Chege by Jubilee, saying that a Raila-Chege ticket would not sound well when abbreviated.
The legislator posted a poster of Raila and Chege on Facebook with the caption: “Lakini mko na mchezo azimio. Eti RA-ila SA-bina ticket. Abbreviation ita sound aje?”

The Raila presidential secretariat team had listed eight possible candidates to deputize the former prime minister after receiving 20 applications.
By Friday, May 6, 13 applications had not been considered as they had not been submitted by the constituent political parties of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance Coalition.
Meanwhile, three more candidates have joined the race to deputize Raila. The Azimio vetting panel said the three names had been erroneously omitted.
The three include Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui, Kakamega Governor Lee Kinyanjui and Agriculture CS Peter Munya.
The Azimio vetting panel has up to May 10 to submit the name of the running mate to Raila.
