The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has issued direct tickets to six candidates after the conclusion of cases lodged at the party’s Appeals Tribunal and Political Parties Disputes Tribunal.
In a statement on Monday by National Elections Board (NEB) chairperson, Catherine Mumma, the party issued direct tickets to candidates from Nairobi, Kisumu, Kilifi, Migori, and Siaya counties.
In parliamentary seats, the party handed the tickets to Amina Laura Mnyazi (Malindi constituency), Timothy Wanyonyi Wetangula (Westlands), and Samuel Onunga Atandi (Alego Usonga).
Ward representative candidates, Kennedy Swaka of Gatina Ward in Nairobi, Samuel Onyango Omollo of Railways Ward (Kisumu), and Eunice Apiyo of Central Kanyamkago Ward (Migori) were given the direct tickets.

“The Central Committee met on Sunday, May 8, reviewed the cases pursuant to the directions given by the Tribunals and guided by the Rules 8(b) and 23 (2) (e) of the Party Primaries and Nomination Rules on Direct Nominations, nominated the candidates to represent the party in the respective electoral areas,” Ms Mumma stated.
She said that the candidates were expected to contact NEB to collect their certificates. Further, Ms Mumma said that there are still pending cases in court.
“The NEB wishes to remind Party members and aspirants that there are still other pending cases in court and will pronounce itself once they are concluded,” she stated.
