Murkomen: According to Murkomen, the MCAs are being intimidated with trumped up charges to coerce them to violate the Constitution of Kenya.

Early this week, the Jubilee Party summoned two Nairobi MCAs for contravening the party position on several issues.

The two; Ann Thumbi and Silvia Museiya were requested to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee on Friday, November 27, 2020 at the Jubilee Headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi.

“You are hereby required to appear on November 27, 2020, at 10.00 am when the complaint against you will be heard by this committee at Jubilee party Headquarters in accordance with the Jubilee Party Disciplinary Committee Regulations, 2017,” Jubilee Party’s letter to the MCAs read in part.

Following the summon, the MCAs allied to Deputy President William Ruto sought Senator Kipchumba Murkomen to represent them at the hearing.

In a tweet earlier today, Murkomen claimed that the leaders were being intimidated for taking a particular political stand.

He shared a photo showing heavy police presence at the Jubilee Headquarters, an indication that the party may have anticipated some form of disturbance from supporters of the summoned leaders.

According to Murkomen, the charges against the MCAs are baseless and only meant to intimidate them.

“Currently at Jubilee Party HQs to appear before the Jubilee Party National Disciplinary Committee on behalf of Nairobi MCAs Hons. Ann Thumbi, Sylvia Museiya and Millicent Jagero being intimidated with trumped up charges to coerce them to violate the Constitution of Kenya,” Murkomen tweeted.
