Deputy President William Ruto now says that the intelligence report he has received shows he is leading with 8%.
Speaking in Makueni County on Thursday, Ruto dismissed remarks by Interior PS Karanja Kibicho and CS Joe Mucheru who said intelligence data showed that Raila Odinga was leading with a margin of 60% and would win in round one.
"It is a first round win. This is intelligence data and that’s what it's saying. It is about 60 percent,” Dr. Kibicho said during an interview.
Ruto mentioned that being the deputy president, he received the report from the National Intelligence Service (NIS) after it had been handed to President Uhuru Kenyatta before it trickled down to junior officials.
"The Intelligence report that our NIS has released shows Kenya kwanza is leading by 8% against our competitors," Ruto alleged.

The DP went further and challenged Kibicho and Mucheru to publish the report they had received from NIS.
Mucheru said during an interview on Inooro TV that Odinga was poised for a victory in round one.
“We will not require a round two vote… All indicators are that he will take it in round One. The data we have, the opinion polls available and many other factors point to that reality,” Mucheru stated.
