Deputy President William Ruto on Friday, June 10, predicted that women in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance will break a record in the next government.
Speaking during the Kenya Kwanza Women Charter conference at Nyayo Stadium, the DP stated that the coalition will produce the highest number of elected female governors in the next administration.
“I am not a prophet but I can predict that the Kenya Kwanza coalition will produce the highest number of elected women governors in the next government. We will set a record in the Republic of Kenya,” Ruto stated.
Ruto further stated that his camp has already given testimony that it is a place for women after producing an unopposed women representative.
“Kenya Kwanza has a ready testimony in the upcoming 13th Parliament to demonstrate that this coalition is the place for women. Even before the elections, we already have an unopposed Women Rep. from Kericho county Beatrice Kemei,” he remarked.
During the event, the DP went ahead to say that the face of the upcoming August polls is a woman.
“The 2022 election is about the economy of the republic of Kenya and its people. The face of this election is a woman and she is called mama mboga,” Ruto stated.
The event at Nyayo Stadium was attended by hundreds of women drawn from the Kenya Kwanza Alliance and other leaders from the outfit including Ruto's running mate Rigathi Gachagua.
