Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has dismissed the plan by Kenya Kwanza Alliance to change the new police uniform.
In an interview with a local radio station on Tuesday, Kibicho said the new police uniform underwent a legal process before it was implemented.
He appeared to chide Kenya Kwanza presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua who said they will change the police uniform saying his remarks were out of order.
"The new police uniform was approved by the Uniforms Committee following the merger of the Administration Police and the Kenya Police Force for greater efficiency," Kibicho said.

He lashed out at Gachagua saying his move to link the uniform to the church is unfortunate.
"Casting aspersions on the uniform and disparaging the Church in the process for political mileage is therefore unfortunate ridicule for two of our venerable institutions."
He said the new police uniform is 100% made in Kenya by factories in Eldoret, Nakuru, Thika and Kitui among others under a deliberate Buy Kenya, Build Kenya policy.
"Our officers now are better kitted at much lower costs. The policy has tremendously grown the local textile industry and created many direct and indirect jobs that support thousands of families," he added.
He divulged Government bias toward local manufacturers has also frustrated entrenched cartels that for long years profited from endemic corruption in public procurement.
