Musician Kelvin Kioko, popularly known as Bahati, has dismissed reports that he has quit Matahre parliamentary race.
Bahati, in a statement on Facebook on Monday, faulted the Azimio coalition for the report saying he will remain in the race till he reaches the ballot.
"Dear Azimio. Stop misleading the voters of Mathare... Bahati- MP has not stepped down for anyone," Bahati stated.
The push and pull come after the Azimio held a meeting last week during which they agreed to have some candidates step down in areas they risk losing.
The coalition council noted that they are keen on consolidating their numbers in parliament which they said is key in the running of their government if they win.

To achieve the plan, the council said they will negotiate with their candidates to have some of them step down for others to avoid dividing votes.
Initially, the Mathare parliamentary seat had been reserved for ODM.
Bahati had been denied a ticket to vie but after a push and pull, the ruling Jubilee handed him the ticket.
The musician has already been cleared to vie.
