The Azimio presidential running mate has revealed the career she would have pursued if she had not become a lawyer.

Azimio presidential running mate Martha Karua has revealed the career she would have pursued if she had not become a lawyer.

Speaking on Wednesday, July 6 while meeting a section of teachers from the Mt. Kenya region, Ms. Karua said that she could have become a teacher.

The Narc Kenya leader stated that teachers were responsible for raising the country adding that she is a daughter of teachers.

“Teachers raise the nation. I am a daughter of teachers. If I didn't become a lawyer, I would've become a teacher myself,” Ms. Karua said.

Ms. Karua further added that she held the teachers' issues close to her heart as she rooted for the Azimio ticket in the August 9 polls.

“Teachers' issues are close to my heart and today I was honoured to discuss our agenda and receive the endorsement of teachers from Mt. Kenya,” Karua tweeted.

In a separate meeting, Karua said that she was the first student to go to university at her former high school, Karoti Girls High School.

“Nishukuru hii shule nilisomea hapa na mimi ndio wa kwanza kwenda university kutoka hii shule. Bila masomo singekuwa hapa,” Karua said during a meeting with women in Kirinyaga.
