Kenyans can now own the affordable government houses in Ngara after they were set up for sale.
In a statement, Housing PS Polycarp Hinga stated that the 488 units are up for grabs. The houses located along Park Road include one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom homes, which will go for Ksh1 million, Ksh2 million, and Ksh3 million, respectively.
The government has unveiled the Boma Yangu platform that will enable Kenyans to buy the houses. All Kenyans have been invited to purchase the units.
Interested Kenyans now have until Friday, December 4, 2020, to apply for a unit.
Hinga also noted that prospective buyers would pay for their installments units but must negotiate their payment plans.

However, they will be required to pay a deposit of 12.5% of the unit's cost upfront.
"For all those who have registered on BomaYangu and have chosen Park Road specifically as your preferred scheme, kindly note we are closing the sale.
"We have negotiated a good mortgage deal for you with the listed participating banks; visit your preferred bank and ask for a pre-approval for the balance and you are good to go," stated the PS.
The PS also noted that the units were already constructed, inspected by authorities for quality before being handed over to the state for sale.
Hinga disclosed that housing units totaled 1,370 - 822 would be floated to the public while 548 would be reserved for civil servants.
