Kenya Airways: On behalf of the board of directors, the management and staff of Kenya Airways, we join the family of the late captain Jeizan in mourning their beloved one and pray that the almighty God will strengthen them during this time of sorrow.

The Kenya Airways has lost one of its senior captains to Covid-19.

According to a statement from KQ Chief Human Resources officer Evelyne Munyoki , Captain Salah Salim Jeizan died at a London hospital on Wednesday.

Reports indicate that Captain Jeizan who was aged 57, had flown to London on November 7, 2020 after which he started encountering difficulty in breathing while at a hotel in the city.

He was admitted at a London hospital where he was receiving treatment until his untimely death.


"On behalf of the board of directors, the management and staff of Kenya Airways, we join the family of the late captain Jeizan in mourning their beloved one and pray that the almighty God will strengthen them during this time of sorrow," KQ said in its message of condolence to the family.

Prior to his death, Captain Deizan had worked with KQ for 19 years having joined the airline in November 2001.

He now becomes the second senior KQ captain to succumb to the deadly virus.

In April, KQ lost Captain Daudi Kabati to Covid-19. The late Kabati died barely a week after evacuating Kenyans stranded in the US back to Nairobi.
