President William Ruto has made a request to American investors during his tour of the United States.

President William Ruto on Wednesday, September 21, held a high-level meeting with United States (US) business executives in New York, USA.

Speaking during the roundtable meeting, the Head of State urged the American investors to invest in Kenya.

President Ruto said that Kenya’s strong democracy, security and people make a conducive environment for business to thrive.

“President William Ruto has urged American businesses to invest in Kenya. Speaking during a Kenya-US executive business roundtable in New York the President said Kenya's strong democracy, security, her people and developed infrastructure make a conducive environment for new investments,” read a statement by State House.

The Head of State further said that Kenya is open for increased business with the USA, maintaining that he will focus on creating a conducive environment for investment.

“Kenya is open for increased business with the USA. A conducive and enabling business environment will be a focus area of my administration to spur domestic and foreign direct investments to create jobs and wealth,” President Ruto said.

The Head of State is on a tour of the United States for the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and he is expected to give his maiden speech to the UN before holding bilateral talks with other Heads of State.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Ruto will also chair a meeting of the Conference of African Heads of State on Climate Crisis (CAHOSCC).
