Roots Presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has stormed out of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) moments after arriving for the presidential debate.
Speaking to the media before he left, Wajackoyah said that he could not debate Agano Party presidential candidate David Mwaure only.
Wajackoyah said that he will not participate in the debate unless all the four presidential candidates were present.
“I am not attending the debate unless we’re four. That’s why I have come to confirm because they never responded to my letter,” Wajackoyah said.

Roots Party spokesperson Wilson Muirani alias Jaymo Ule Msee issued a statement earlier where he said that the party's presidential candidate will not attend the debate.
He said that the debate was already predetermined and it could be a joke for their candidate to attend.
“Roots Party would like to state that our presidential candidate Prof. Wajackoyah will not attend the presidential debate because we will not subject the incoming President to the joke of an already predetermined debate,” read the statement.
Wajackoyah was to face off with Mwaure in the first tier of the debate.
The first tier was to feature candidates that polled less than 5 percent in the last three consecutive polls.
Meanwhile, Mwaure arrived at CUEA grounds, asking other presidential candidates to show up for the debate.
