The Nairobi Governor has announced an annual fun-filled Nairobi Festival.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja on Thursday, September 22, announced an annual fun-filled Nairobi City Festival that will be held every December.

Speaking during a meeting with the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry in his office, Sakaja said that the event will feature various activities including arts, culture, food among others.

The county boss maintained that the festival will be held after Jamhuri Day Celebrations that are normally held in December 12.

“In December, we will set aside some streets to display culture, food, creativity, have the nganya awards for the best done matatus, have rugby, football and basketball tournaments and many other activities,” Sakaja stated.

The governor further said that Nairobi will continue to stand tall as the trade, economic and financial hub for Africa.

“Nairobi will stand tall as the trade, economic and financial hub of Africa. Grateful the Nairobi chapter of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their courtesy call and discussions this morning,” Sakaja said.

The county boss has hit the ground running after taking over the reins at City Hall as he has already began putting his house in order for the smooth running of the city.

The governor has already met with various stakeholders and the newly elected Nairobi MCAs as he begins service delivery to the city residents.
