The Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has responded to an alleged clip of Suna East MP Junet Mohamed that linked him to election rigging.
In a press briefing on Monday, IEBC Vice Chairperson Juliana Cherera stated that there was nothing factual about the allegations against the lawmaker.
Cherera, however, said that investigations had been launched adding that if there was anything factual about the clip, IEBC will give a communication.
“It has been pulled out of a pool and we will look into that. But there is nothing that I can say which is factual about it. So we wait until if there is anything factual about it then it will be said,” Cherera stated.

The IEBC vice chairperson further said that the commission monitors what is being said in the political scene, maintaining that only the information that came from IEBC was reliable.
The alleged clip of the Azimio secretary general that made rounds on social media was shared by Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa.
However, in a statement, Junet dismissed the clip as fake stating that it was a desperate move by their opponents since they were losing this election.
"A manipulated social media voice recording doing rounds on social media purporting to capture Hon. Junet Mohamed as speaking to an IEBC official is fake. I urge the public to ignore the video,” read part of Junet's statement.
