“We know people are not sleeping. They want to make sure our systems are down,” IEBC CEO Hussein Marjan.

The Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has rubbished reports that its systems had been comprised.

In a press briefing on Friday, August 12, IEBC CEO Hussein Marjan stated that it anticipated that there were people who would try and hack the commission’s systems.

He maintained that the commission put in place measures to ensure that the systems were secured and no such thing would happen.

Marjan said that IEBC was monitoring its systems at all levels and no hacking had been done yet assuring Kenyans that the systems were safe.

“Ofcourse, we anticipated that their people who would try to hack our systems and we have put mechanisms in place to ensure that our systems are secured. We are monitoring all our systems at all levels and nothing like that has happened,” Marjan stated.

Marjan maintained that IEBC’s results portal is secured due to the mechanisms that the commission put in place to ensure that it’s off hackers.

He added that if there was any doubt by Kenyans over the same, they should reach the commission and cease spreading misinformation.

“And if there is any doubt please talk to us. Don’t send misinformation out there. Please talk to us and mechanisms that we have out in place are foolproof,” Marjan said.
