President-elect William Ruto has congratulated former Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja after being sworn in as the new Nairobi County governor.
Speaking at the KICC on Thursday where the inauguration ceremony took place, Ruto wished Sakaja well as he took over Nairobi's leadership, adding that he made his camp proud.
“From my family and I and the UDA and Kenya Kwanza family, congratulations. You have made us proud. I want to take this opportunity at this very early moment not only to congratulate you but to wish you well as you take over the reins of the governor of this great city,” Ruto stated.
He further told the new Nairobi governor that he was a miracle candidate, adding that he had confidence that Nairobi got the best governor.
“You are a miracle candidate. It wouldn’t have happened without God. I want to tell, you my friend and brother, that we will work with you and we have confidence in you,” Ruto said.
The President-elect also congratulated all the governors that were scheduled to take the oath of office across the country on Thursday.
Ruto promised that his government will work with all county bosses to make the country a great nation.
“I congratulate all the other governors that are being sworn in today across Kenya. I pledge that the national government of Kenya will work with all the governors of Kenya in making Kenya a great nation,” Ruto said.
