Gachagua revealed details of the meeting on Friday morning in a social media post.

A meeting between Deputy President William Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga in Mombasa was not planned, Nairobi Leo has established.

Nairobi Leo has also established that the meeting happened on Friday morning.

Reliable information indicates that the two bumped into each other at an airport in Mombasa.

On Thursday, Raila had attended a Luncheon of Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir while Gachagua had launched Governor and Deputy Governors induction in Mombasa on the same day.

It is when the two were heading to Nairobi that they bumped into each other.

"We have tremendous respect for our senior citizens. I was delighted this morning to have a tete a tete with our senior citizen former Prime Minister Rt Hon Raila Amolo Odinga in Mombasa," Gachagua posted on Facebook.

The meeting comes after Raila jetted back into Kenya on Thursday morning, September 15, after a visit to Zanzibar, Tanzania.

The former Prime Minister said that he left the country with his family to recuperate following his loss in the presidential election.

“I have been out of the country. I went to recuperate in the Islands of Zanzibar. I took my wife, children and grandchildren also to go and heal out of the shock that they got as a family,” Raila said.

Speaking in Mombasa, Raila, however, heavily attacked the judiciary for its decision to uphold President Ruto's election.

Even as he maintained his stand on disagreeing with the ruling, Raila said that the people had the power to reform the judiciary as it was exercising donated power.

“Shame on the Judiciary of this country. We will talk. The Constitution of this country gives power to the people of Kenya and all those other people exercising power are exercising donated power. The Judiciary is no exception. If they become rogue, we have power as people of this country to reform them,” he said.
