A billionaire politician has threatened to ditch Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party after its leader Isaac Ruto said the outfit will rally behind Baringo Senator Gideon Moi if he contests the presidency in 2022.
The remark did not augur well with Bundotich Kiprop Buzeki, who is also the Secretary General of CCM.
In a recent interview, Buzeki accused Ruto of making decisions without consulting other party organs, and vowed to quit if he and other party officials are not involved in the decision making process.
“I was overwhelmed by enquiries from supporters over the statement. Some said they did not know that I was using Isaac Ruto as my political short cut to reach Gideon Moi yet that has not been the case.
“I am still the SG of the party but if such unilateral statements continue to be made then I will not be a party to that. I will have to consult my supporters and make a decision,” said Buzeki during an interview with the Star.
