The Nairobi City County Alcoholic Drinks Control and Licencing Board has revoked alcohol licenses of 43 entertainment joints across the city.
In a letter on Monday, October 3, the Board’s director Hesbon Agwena said that they had received complaints about excessive noise emanating from these joints.
He said that despite the arrest and arraignment of the proprietors in court, they have refused to comply and continued to contravene stipulated licensing conditions.
Agwena instructed the county administrators to begin the process of revoking the licenses and shutting down the joints.
“By a copy of this memo you are instructed to start the process of cancellation, revocation and closing down under listed premises as per the provision of the Nairobi County Alcoholic Drinks Control Licensing Act 2014 in line with Section 21(1) and 35(3),” Agwena stated.
