Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has claimed that President William Ruto does not want the importation of GMO foods into the country.
In a statement on Tuesday, November 22, Ole Kina said that since some of the President's allies were against the importation of GMO foods, he was convinced the Head of State neither wanted it.
The vocal lawmaker, however, wondered whether President Ruto was being pressured to allow GMO foods into the country.
"With my friend Senator Samson Cherargei leading a press conference against the importation of GMO Maize… I am now convinced that even H.E. William Ruto does not want GMO in the Country. Is he being forced by someone?" Ole Kina posed.
His remarks come after Azimio leader Raila Odinga sensationally claimed on Sunday that President Ruto was not working for Kenya as he was being a puppet for the West.

Raila said that the lifting of the GMO ban was a betrayal to Kenyans, alleging that the Head of State is working for foreign nations.
"We consider the decision to lift ban on GMO foods and their importation a betrayal to our country. On this, the Ruto administration is not working for Kenya. He is being a puppet, working for the foreign nations and their multinationals against our interest as a nation," Raila said.
However, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Monday slammed the former Prime Minister maintaining that the government will continue working with the West.
""We do not need advice from the opposition. We welcome the support from the West, East, North, South or even Centre. The West is supporting us and we are happy. We will continue working with the West," Gachagua stated.
