Successful shortlisted candidates will receive incubation and acceleration support to scale their innovation.

World Bank, in collaboration with other agricultural institutions, has announced two challenges targeting individuals and organisations interested in soil health and innovation. 

The Challenge dubbed, Data for Soil Health and Innovation Challenge 2025, targets researchers, farmers, startups, companies, government institutions, and research institutions that can propose practical solutions to soil health.

"The Data and Soil Innovation Challenge tackles soil health threats by uniting innovators, researchers, and policymakers to co-create digital and non-digital solutions using AI, machine learning, and big data, enhancing agricultural productivity through cross-sector collaboration and improved data access," read the notice in part.

How to Apply

Individual participants interested in taking part in the challenge must represent companies and organisations that are registered and have been operating for the last two years.

On the other hand, for companies and organisations, they also have to be legally registered and have operated for two years.

Applications are to be filled out by April 18, 2024.

Shortlisting of successful candidates is expected to be done by April 23, 2025. 

"If successfully shortlisted, you will gain access to expert mentorship and industry networks and work with real-world datasets to develop AI-driven and data-powered solutions," read the notice in part.

"Successful shortlisted candidates will receive incubation and acceleration support to scale their innovation. For the Innovation Challenge, select winners will receive the Thryve Award, and will be accepted into the Thryve Accelerator Program."
