“During the maintenance, all M-Pesa services, including airtime purchases, shall be temporarily unavailable,” Safaricom said.

The company explained that the maintenance exercise was scheduled past midnight to minimize inconvenience to M-Pesa customers.

"To meet our promise to always offer a reliable, safe, secure, and superior customer experience, we will be conducting a scheduled system maintenance on the night of Monday, 24th March 2025, starting from 01:00 AM to 01:30 AM," the company said.

The mobile service provider company explained that the maintenance is part of their ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery.

"We are continuously innovating and enhancing our services to connect our customers with endless possibilities," the company added.

During the maintenance period, M-Pesa services were affected, with transactions experiencing intermittent interruptions.
