Popular radio presenter Steve Jacob Maunda alias Shatta Bway has left Cape Media Limited, which owns TV 47 and Radio 47.
In a statement on Saturday, May 3, Shatta thanked his fans for supporting him through his media journey.
“6 Years ago, I switched on a microphone and introduced you to The Shatta Bway, and you Guys became Family instantly. You've been with me through thick and thin, the highs and lows of life. Today I have made another decision.
“I have officially left Cape Media(TV & Radio 47 and Maybets). I leave with no regrets, only gratitude and a genuine desire to see Cape Media so even higher,” Shatta stated.
At the same time, the radio personality hinted at making a comeback with a daily radio show.

Shatta noted that his fans had urged him to go back to doing a daily radio show.
"You said Shatta should return to Radio daily, and I've listened to you, so stay tuned for the next chapter… you’ll love it. Thanks for being loyal soldiers in the Shatta Army,” the journalist added.
Shatta joined Cape Media in March 2024 as a radio and TV host and the Director of Projects and Strategy for Maybet.
Before joining Cape Media, Shatta hosted the Radio Citizen’s Waks Tikitaka show for five years. He worked alongside Q-Tee and DJ Rambo in the show that aired from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In a video after exiting Radio Citizen, Shatta explained that his decision to leave was to concentrate on raising his two children.
“At this point where I am in life, I make decisions like two parents. I have to think as a father and as a mother. I need more time with my kids, for example, my son is now 13 years old and this is the point a parent is likely to lose their children unknowingly,” Shatta explained.
