President William Ruto's aide, Farouk Kibet, has taken on former president Uhuru Kenyatta, whom he accuses of meddling in the running of the country.
Uhuru has lately been urging the youth to rise against bad governance, a call that some of the current regime sympathisers interpret as incitement.
Speaking in West Pokot on Saturday, May 3, Farouk accused the former president of inciting the youth to lawlessness at every opportunity to speak he gets.
He asked Uhuru to sit back and allow his successor the space to carry out his agenda like he was allowed for the ten years he was in power.
According to Farouk, Uhuru's tenure was not the best for a benchmark, asking him to be fair to Ruto.

"We are asking the retired president to respect Kenyans. You can't be a retired head of state and then incite the public. He should allow the current president to govern. He was president for ten years; we were not happy with his regime, but we putt up with it and allowed him to work. Every morning he wakes up to incite; he doesn't want peace for this country, we tell him that he will be defeated," Farouk said.
Farouk's sentiments came days after those of Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, who also hit out at Uhuru over his constant calls to the youth to rise up for better governance.
At every opportunity, Uhuru has called on the young generation to challenge the political status quo and pursue change.
According to the former president, the youth have great numbers that they could leverage in fighting for good leadership.
Murkomen, however, accused him of inciting the youth for selfish gains.
Speaking in Machakos during the county's phase of the ongoing Jukwaa la Usalama forums, Murkomen said Uhuru was not best placed to lecture others on governance.
The CS stated that Uhuru was president and left power just recently, suggesting that his tenure was not the best for him to feel he is qualified and clean to advise on matters of governance.
