Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has paid a heartfelt tribute to her late husband, Prince Henry Oduwole, as she marked what would have been their 32nd wedding anniversary.
In an update on Thursday, October 2, the governor remembered Prince not only as a loving husband but also a devoted father.
"Today marks 32 years since I got married to the love of my life, my dear husband, the late Prince Henry Oduwole. He was not only a loving husband but also a devoted father to our children. The children and I miss you deeply every single day. Continue resting in eternal peace, Prince," she stated.
Prince passed away on September 25, 2016, at Nairobi Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment.
According to the family, he died while receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit after suffering a sudden and severe rise in blood pressure.

"I was called by my sister around 1 am, telling me that the condition of her husband had worsened. Upon arriving at the hospital a few minutes later, he passed on
"He has been in and out of the hospital since March. He has actually been to Matter Hospital, Nairobi Hospital, and even to London. But this morning, God decided to have him rest," Wavinya’s elder brother Raphael Musyoki said at the time.
Musyoki said Prince's death came as a big blow to the entire Ndeti family as he held a big place in their lives and in their heart.
"It is a big blow not only to his wife, Wavinya, but also to the entire Ndeti’s family because to us, Oduwole was not just an in-law but a son in the family. He was very supportive of any family matter," he added.
Elsewhere, this comes a year after Wavinya addressed reports that she was arrested in the United Kingdom in possession of Ksh679 million.
In a statement on Monday, September 9, 2024, she termed the reports as 'baseless rumours and fake news,' which she claimed amounted to defamation and misuse of digital media.
"It is demeaning and an insult to the intelligence of the people of Machakos and Kenya to imagine that I would smuggle hundreds of millions of shillings on my person to the United Kingdom and that I have been detained.
"Those fabricating falsity are clearly ignorant of the robust nature of UK Customs/Border Control and Financial Institutions. I can confirm that my family and I are safe and sound and remain in good standing both at home and abroad," she remarked.
Wavinya affirmed that she would not be distracted in his quest for a better livelihood for the people of Machakos County.
"My administration is closing on nearly 1,000 projects from August 2022, and in Financial Year 2023/2024 we collected Sh1.7 billion own source revenue, which is the highest ever collected in Machakos since the inception of devolution,” she explained.
Wavinya vowed to take legal action against those behind the reports, urging them to present evidence when the law catches up with them.
The governor emphasized that the malicious information about her and her family has put their lives in danger.
“Such malicious misinformation has created a perception about me and my family members that endangers our lives. Let the authors of this narrative be warned that should anything happen to any member of my family or myself, you shall be held personally responsible,” she further said.
