Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has announced the resolution of a copyright dispute involving musicians Kapitani and Master VK over the hit song Kitemeo.
In a statement on Thursday, August 13, Babu said the two artists reached out to him to help mediate their differences.
"Kapitani and Master VK reached out to me to help mediate their copyright conflict over their song Kitemeo, popularly known on social media as 'Bag Ni Ya Nini'," he wrote
Babu said he was pleased that the dispute had been resolved, adding that Master VK had agreed to have the song restored on YouTube as the parties work together on other projects.
"I’m glad we successfully resolved the dispute, and Master VK has agreed to have the song restored on YouTube as we work together on other major projects," he added.

Babu further disclosed that he was already involved in a major project with the two artists and would also feature in its music video.
"We are already working on a major project together, and I’m excited to be part of the music video as well. As a country, we must create an environment where our artists can resolve differences, collaborate, and grow together," he further said.
This comes a day after Babu dismissed claims of banging a table on the late Raila Odinga.
Speaking during an interview on Wednesday, Babu said he has never disrespected the late former Prime Minister.
"We were in a meeting with Aladwa, Mwenje, Mawathe, Anthony Oluch, Orero and Jalang’o. I did not bang any table on Baba Raila Odinga. Baba was my leader, and I respect the elders," he stated.
Baby went on to say that the late Raila never publicly claimed that he had disrespected him.
"Raila himself, if I had a problem with him, you never heard Baba say, even once, at a public rally that this old man had disrespected me," he added.
Babu claimed that people are taking advantage of Raila’s death to make unverified allegations.
"Now that Baba has passed away, everyone is saying, ‘Baba told me this,’ and everyone has their own version of events," he further said.
