After coming out as gay, Media Personality Makena Njeri went on to launch a project dubbed Bold Network which she announced on Instagram and also addressed her relationship with Marini founder Michelle Ntalami amid speculation that the two were an item.
She praised Ntalami for always being by her side and supporting her through her journey which has not been easy. Njeri noted that when she was bullied Michelle stood by her side.
"I remember when I was trolled every morning for 3 months for living my truth and I was so scared of what the universe will say or do you were always there to remind me of who I am," the media personality said.
She acknowledged that their relationship and friendship had been tested in many ways but they have always remained solid and loved and supported each other.
Njeri also revealed that Michelle had experienced cyberbullying due to their relationship but she never gave up on her.
"Our relationship and friendship was questioned so many times and you were dragged on the mud together with me so many times but not once did you fail to stand by me," Njeri said.
Makena came out this month and told the world she will be living in her truth as she addressed an incident when she went viral after her ex-girlfriend vandalized her car.
“I remember for the first time in my life after very many years, I looked in a mirror and said to myself, ‘I am gay, I am unique, and this is my truth,” the media personality said. "This was a victory for me, but what I didn’t know was just this was the beginning of my journey to boldness.”
