Diamond Platnumz's performance at Kasarani Stadium during the Azimio Presidential candidate Raila Odinga's last rally might have angered a section of Kenyan artists but, the dude got a huge deal.
While it is not clear yet how much the highest artist pockets in Kenya for show, Diamond's 10-minute performance was worth multiple times most Kenyan artists would pocket for a show.
A report by Nation has divulged that Diamond pocketed a whooping Sh12 million for the 10-minute performance. He literally made Sh1 million per minute.
The amount might go down in history of East Africa as the highest ever paid to an artist for a performance per minute.

Well, despite all the mixed reactions his performance generated, it has also emerged that the amount was not paid by the Azimio but by a Tanzania tycoon.
"The performance was actually sponsored by a tycoon in Tanzania, I am not sure if the tycoon is a businessman or a politician but clearly it seems it's someone well known to Azimio's principals. However, what I’m sure of is that Diamond was paid $100,000 (Sh11.9m) for the Kasarani performance," a source quoted by Nation stated.
The tycoon is believed to have close links with Azimio senior leaders.
Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is reported to have been part of the negotiations that started three weeks ago to have diamond perform at the Azimio rally.
The deal was sealed but Diamond, until the D-day, could not reveal that he was going to perform at the Azimio rally.
Many Kenyans were left guessing whether he will be at Deputy President William Ruto's Nyayo Stadium rally or Odinga's or even a private function.
The Tanzanian sensation, however, did not disappoint as he gave an electrifying performance that made the rally the talk of town.
