Legendary actor Matayo Keya, popularly known by his stage name Alphonse Makacha Makokha, has lost his wife, Purity Wambui.
The news of the passing of his wife was shared on Facebook on Sunday, June 2, by his friend and fellow actor Hiram Mungai, popularly known by his stage name Ondiek Nyuka Kwota.
Ondiek mourned Wambui as a remarkable woman who touched many lives through her kindness and warmth.
However, the Vioja Mahakamani actor did not share the cause of Wambui's demise.
"It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the demise of Purity Wambui beloved wife to Makokha Makacha Aka "Babyface" of Vioja Mahakamani on KBC Channel 1 TV. She was a remarkable woman who touched many lives with her kindness and warmth," Ondiek posted on Facebook.

"Makacha and his family are deeply grateful for your love and support during this incredibly difficult season. For those who wish to express their condolences, please feel free to leave your messages below," he added.
Following the announcement, a number of Kenyans on social media shared their condolence messages to Makokha and his family.
Makokha has been gracing Kenyan screens for a long time in his famous role as Alphonse Makokha on Vioja Mahakamani, a court-based drama aired on KBC Channel 1 TV.
The veteran actor has also featured in an episode of Hullabaloo, a comedy series on Maisha Magic.
