Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale has heaped praise on COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli after meeting President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi.
In a tweet on Thursday, December 1, the vocal lawmaker said that Atwoli had made a good decision by meeting the Head of State.
Atwoli was among a section of Western Kenya leaders who met President Ruto on Thursday, led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
"Had a fruitful breakfast meeting of leaders from Kakamega County with President William Ruto. Happy that critical development agenda was discussed. Chief CS Mudavadi & Speaker Wetangula attended. Congratulations Mr Francis Atwoli for making the big decision," Khalwale stated.
After the meeting, Atwoli stated that he paid a courtesy call by the president where they discussed matters on labour.

The trade unionist further said that he sought an appointment with the Head of State to meet and share with all COTU-Kenya Secretary Generals.
"This morning I paid a courtesy call to H.E President William Ruto whereby we held discussions on Kenya's ratification of ILO C190 and outsourcing of labour. I also sought an appointment with the Head of State to meet and share with all @COTU_K Affiliated General Secretaries," Atwoli tweeted.
Atwoli was a very strong critic of President Ruto in the campaigns leading to the August 9 General Election.
He campaigned for Azimio leader Raila Odinga and was at one point quoted saying that Ruto will never be the President of Kenya.
