President Ruto’s Fresh Directives to CSs During Cabinet Retreat

President William Ruto has issued a wide range of directives to his Cabinet to ensure the smooth running of his administration.

Speaking in Nyeri County on Friday, January 6, during day two of the Cabinet retreat, the Head of State directed that the CSs clear their desks once each day.

"I have said with clarity that each and every one of us must clear their desks once a day. When you find your desk is piling up with documents and files, you know something is wrong," President Ruto said.

He further asked all the CSs to work with the Ministry of ICT to ensure that all government services are digitized in the next six months.

The president called for efficient service delivery to Kenyans even as he asked his cabinet to embrace technology.

"Sending a letter takes time, sending an email is instant. Sending a letter has too much bureaucracy. It is time to deliver value to Kenyan people," President Ruto said.

He further asked the CSs to serve Kenyans as a whole irrespective of their counties of origin as they pledged a commitment to serve the nation.

"The interests of the people of Kenya come first. The people without ties, some without shoes, some cannot be allowed beyond the watchman. They cannot afford to hire a lawyer. Those are our bosses," the president said.

He asked the CSs to assess every government programme and make sure that they are completed.
