Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed that he is yet to move into his official residence in Karen.
Gachagua who was addressing Mt Kenya Vernacular media stations on Friday, March 17, said the residence was in bad shape by the time President William Ruto was vacating to occupy State House.
He said a section of the roof was even leaking since it was deprived of funds for maintenance. The DP said Ruto and his family were forced to take shelter in one of the corners of the house.
"The official residence of the Deputy President was in a bad shape. The rooftop was leaking, the borehole pump was broken down, and the whole house was totally in a bad shape," he said.

He revealed that the house had to be put under renovation so that he can occupy it once done.
According to Gachagua, the house was neglected by the former regime which he claimed never cared to ensure it is renovated more often.
"I love this home. That explains why I have not moved to the official Karen residence," Gachagua noted.
Despite loving his private Karen home, Gachagua hinted at occupying the official residence once it is ready to take over.
