Cabinet Secretary For Roads and Infrastructure Kipchumba Murkomen has broken his silence to a viral appeal from a lady who requested a car from him.
Mercy Jerop was pictured carrying a placard requesting the CS for a car saying it would help her in carrying out the mandate of her ministry.
"Gospel artist Mercy Jerop. Please Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, buy me a car to aid my ministry."
The CS however on Monday said he held talks with Mercy during which he implored her to shelve the idea of a car.

He said they agreed with her on a better idea of having a business that can finance her gospel industry in the long run.
"Mercy was a salonist who like many other entrepreneurs suffered a major setback in 2020 because of Covid. We have discussed how I can support the revival of her business," he said in a statement on Facebook.
"We have agreed that even though a car may be important for her ministry, it’s better to support a sustainable business that can finance her gospel ministry in the long run. I congratulate Mercy for her service to God and mankind."
The image of Jerop holding the placard was widely shared on social media with a section of Kenyans asking the CS to intervene.
However, others felt that maybe a different support other than a car would suffice.
