Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has announced that the government will recruit one hundred teachers that will be posted in Baringo County.

Speaking on Thursday, May 18 during the graduation ceremony of newly trained National Police Reservists in Baringo County, Kindiki stated that the move would ensure learning is not uninterrupted in the county.

“The Government will recruit and post an additional 100 teachers; 50 for Baringo South and 50 for Baringo North to ensure learning in the reopened schools goes on uninterrupted,” Kindiki stated.

The Interior CS also announced that the government has released one hundred million shillings for KDF officers to reconstruct all schools that were damaged by bandits.

“An initial allocation of Ksh.100M has been released for the rehabilitation of all schools that were damaged by bandits. KDF officers will manage the reconstruction. Another Ksh.100M will be allocated in the second phase to complete the reconstruction,” he added.

Kindiki further stated that police reservists will have NHIF medical cover that will be extended to their family members and new uniforms including footwear to enable the officers to execute their duties.
