President William Ruto has fired a warning to Regional Commissioners against abetting crime in their areas of jurisdiction.
Speaking on Monday, August 14 during a meeting with Regional Commissioners at the Eldoret State Lodge in Uasin Gishu County, the President said officers who will be found engaging in corruption and other criminal activities will be arrested and prosecuted.
“There are people who are allowing criminals to acquire Government documents such as passports and identity cards. Trust you me, they will be arrested and prosecuted,” said Ruto.
The Head of State noted that Kenyans want their taxes to be protected and used prudently adding that he has made a commitment to them and he will keep the promise.
President Ruto at the same time reiterated that the Kenya Kwanza government will not look for external funding to run its programs.

“That is why I will not allow any public money to be stolen or misused,” the President stated.
He further maintained that he will not allow National Government Administration Officers to engage in politics.
“You must serve all Kenyans equally; that service does not include politics,” Ruto told the commissioners.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who also attended the meeting asked the officers to adhere to their professional code of conduct.
“We are not going to misuse you for politics,” DP Gachagua observed.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo were in the meeting that also focused on education and the fight against drugs and substance abuse.
