Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Thursday arrested a 17-year-old juvenile for being in possession of a Knife while in class, Kwale County.
According to a statement by DCI, detectives received a report from the headteacher that a section of students had sneaked knives in the school.
The detectives swung into action and after a thorough search, the student was arrested and is in police custody.
"Luckily, nobody was injured since detectives & our Police counterparts moved in swiftly & conducted a thorough search leading to the discovery of the knife.
"The teenager has since been placed in custody, in strict conformity to the law and will be presented before court for preparation to commit a felony, contrary to section 308 (1) of the penal code," part of the statement read.
