A police officer has been killed in Siaya County and his other colleague injured after being attacked by thugs on Monday morning.
The tragedy occurred in the Alego Usonga sub-county when the officers were escorting KCSE exam papers.
The KCSE exam papers were being escorted to Mahero Secondary School in Siaya County.
The school center manager is said to have run for safety as the officers engaged the thugs.
During the tragedy, one firearm was stolen.

The thugs escaped with the officers' guns (an AK47 and MP5).
Nyanza regional police commander Manase Musyoka has confirmed the incident.
He said they are investigating the incident.
Musyoka said more officers have been mobilized to track down the assailants who are said to have escaped by foot.
"The examination's integrity has not been interfered with and the students are now continuing with their exams as was scheduled," he said.
Residents who were at the scene said the body of the deceased had stabbed wounds.
