Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi’s lawyer Muthomi Thiankolu has accused Aldai Member of Parliament Marianne Kitany of being behind the motion to impeach his client.
Speaking on Wednesday while appearing before the National Assembly Select Committee on the Impeach of CS Linturi, Thiankolu alleged that the second charge against the CS is brought by differences between him and Kitany who is his ex-wife.
“The real mover of this motion before you is the honourable member for Aldai,” Thiankolu claimed.
Linturi’s lawyer claimed that evidence submitted on the allegation arose from Kitany’s case against the Agriculture CS.
“The second allegation relates to alleged crime at the national law which unfortunately the evidence given arises from personal cases about love, affection and personal matters,” Thiankolu remarked.

The motion to impeach CS Linturi was tabled in the National Assembly by Bumula MP Jack Wamboka.
The former Meru Senator is accused of gross violations of the provisions of the Constitution or any other law, committing crimes under national law, and gross misconduct.
Responding to the claims by CS Linturi’s lawyer, Wamboka said it was unfair for the Aldai MP to be dragged into the case.
“These are grievous matters of national importance to be reduced to love matters. If you have been left accept. It is unfair to keep dragging Maryanne into these matters,” the Bumula MP stated.
