Miguna explained that he was forced to use the cast boot for him to fly.

Lawyer Miguna Miguna has shared his recovery journey after sustaining a leg injury.

The fiery attorney shocked many on Friday evening when he shared a photo of him in a leg cast boot and crutches beside him.

"Recovering from a fractured left foot. Thanks to all my orthopaedic surgeon, friends and compatriots," he said while uploading a photo.

Questions then abounded as to what might have transpired for the lawyer to get injured.

He revealed he was involved in an accident that injured his tibia thrice.

"Thanks to everyone who has wished me a quick recovery. I’m unable to identify everyone by name. For those asking what happened: I had an accident and fractured my tibia three times. The cast is to help with the healing, however, since one cannot fly in a cast (due to fluctuating cabin pressure), I’ll need the boot," he said.

Earlier, Kenyans of goodwill had sent him quick recovery messages, which he acknowledged in his explanation.

The fiery lawyer, who was exiled to Canada for four years between 2018 and 2022, has been a chief critic of President William Ruto despite the latter helping him return to the country.

He recently slammed Ruto over his plan to raise the country's tax rate from the current 14 percent to possibly 22 percent before he leaves office.

In a statement via X on Wednesday, May 15, Miguna said Kenyans are overtaxed and exploited by the government.

The vocal lawyer claimed taxes collected by the government are stolen and misused by some government officials and politicians.

“This is a reckless statement and plan, President William Ruto. Kenyans are over-taxed, repressed, exploited, and abused. The high taxes Kenyans pay are stolen, misused, diverted, and wasted by a few politicians,” said Miguna.

He added, “You can’t compare the 13% goods and services tax, in Canada, for example, which is utilized to provide universal quality healthcare, education, housing, 1st class highways, roads, sewer systems and a million other public services to residents, with the state of collapse in Kenya.”

Miguna pointed out that there is no need to increase Kenya’s tax rate to 22 per cent when Kenyans don’t receive the value of the taxes they pay.

He further asked President Ruto to respect Kenyans and stop the plan to increase the country’s tax rate.

“President William Ruto, please show some respect to the suffering Kenyans who gave you an opportunity to be president. Stop adding sulphuric acid to our injuries,” Miguna stated.
