Kenya is set to host the Global Peace Leadership Conference (GPLC) from June 25, 2024, to June 27, 2024, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Upper Hill, Nairobi.
The event, convened by the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) in partnership with the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya (IRCK), Konza Technopolis, and the Chandaria Foundation will bring together delegates from Africa and around the world to explore and discuss ways to promote peace, development, and cooperation.
President William Ruto is expected to officially open the Global Peace Leadership Conference.
The GPLC aims to promote an African Renaissance that draws on Africa’s unique heritage and the strength of its spirituality and traditional values, empowering African leadership, strengthening intracontinental partnerships, and cultivating ethical global citizenship.
“Through engaging plenary sessions, GPLC Africa 2024 seeks to inspire, unite, and empower the people of Africa to shape a prosperous and peaceful future for the continent,” IRCK said in a statement.

The event will also engage policymakers, educators, faith leaders, government officials, and other stakeholders to identify and share measures for sustainable peacebuilding and development efforts, evaluate and advance peace and development frameworks, and develop community-based interventions.
Some of the expected outcomes of the event would be increased social cohesion, improved interfaith leadership and partnerships, and the launch of ongoing programmes and projects.
GPF is an international non-sectarian, no-partisan, nonprofit organization, that promotes an innovative, alum-based approach to peacebuilding, guided by the vision of One Family under God.
The foundation engages and organizes a global network of public and private sector partners who develop community, national, and regional peacebuilding models as the foundation for ethical and cohesive societies.
GPF has more than 20 chapters worldwide and has a presence in 4 African countries namely Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Nigeria.
On the other hand, IRCK is a coalition of all major faith communities in Kenya, It works together to deepen dialogue among different religions and collaborate on common goals.
On June 25, 2024, the convenors of the GPLC Africa 2024 will plant 30,000 trees at the Konza Technopolis.
